Happy Valentine's! Or Happy Arizona Statehood!

When I was in high school, my friends and I created pity parties in replacement of Valentine's Day (or any other holiday/event that required a boyfriend).  We called February 14 by its proper name, Arizona Statehood Day.  :)

This year, Arizona turns 100 years old!  How exciting!

1. Navajo Code Talkers (and their influence in World War II)

2. Copper

5. The Innovative Water System (that lets people live in a desert)

6. Supreme Court Judge Sandra Day O'Connor

7. Ira Hayes (one of the men holding up the flag in the famed Iwo Jima statue)

8. The Diamondbacks (namely, game 7 of the 2001 World Series)

9. Charles Keating (the biggest scandal)

10. The Establishment of the Arizona Territory in 1863
