Everyone I meet seems to have read Ender's Game at one time or another. Yet, because it's science fiction and SO old, it's like we belong to a secret society because no one ever talks about it! Isn't that strange? And it's not like it's a guilty pleasure book; it's actually a really REALLY good book. Solid plot, great twists, fun characters, and a totally cool setting (in space).
Anyway, I can't count how many times I've told my husband that this book should be made into a movie and how cool it would be. Think of the visuals! Think of the YA cast! Think of the potential!
Now, imagine my surprise when my co-worker told me they ARE making a movie of it...with Harrison Ford, Ben Kinsley, Viola Davis, Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) as Petra, and Asa Butterfield (Hugo) as Ender, no less!
I'm excited to see what they do with the movie. It's not coming out until 2013, but it's worth the wait.
Have you read Ender's Game? Do you belong in Ender's Club? :)
