TGIF! & Brave

The trailer for Pixar's newest movie, Brave, popped up on my Facebook thread the other day and I am excited to see it.  A movie about a strong heroine with a mind of her own?  YES, PLEASE!

It also intrigued me that the voices are all Scottish, so I hopped on over to IMDB and found out that the actress who voices Merida (the main character) is none other than Kelly Macdonald.  She was the little maid in Gosford Park, which is my go-to movie when it's rainy outside.  Love her in that movie.

Anyway, it made me think of books with strong female characters that should be made into movies.  I know The Hunger Games is already coming out in a couple weeks (more on that later).  What about Emily of New Moon?  Or These is My WordsPrincess Academy, anyone?

This is what I aspire to do: I want to write a female heroine who can inspire girls to be strong.  (No more wimpy Bellas, okay?)

:)  Happy Friday.

Weekly Writing Progress: Fixed up the second half of the old Ch.1.  Yay.  My re-done outline for the rest of the book has almost become final, so I'll be fixing things and cutting and pasting in Part 2 for the next few weeks.  Onward and upward!
