Grammar Lesson Monday: Then and Than

Welcome to Grammar Lesson Monday!
This continuous series will address many common grammar mistakes made in the media and that I've seen more than once.  I strive to make the world a better place with good grammar.

Today, we will learn about the difference between then and than.

Than is used when you are comparing different things.
The laundry basket is bigger than the baby bathtub!

Then is usually used for all other times.
Then (as in later), we all piled into the car to go to the movies.
I washed my hair, then shampooed it.

That's it for today.  Celebrate good grammar!

  1. Hahaha! You make me laugh! Thank you for making the world a better place :-) You're more wonderful than ice cream. But then, you're more wonderful than a lot of things.
