TGIF!! or #11 Get back to pre-pregnancy weight

Today, we have reason to celebrate!!!

I checked off #11 on my list of 101 in 1001 days: Get back to pre-pregnancy weight.

I have lost all of my pregnancy weight!  YEAH!  Booyah!  So excited!
It actually happened a couple of weeks ago, but I wanted to make sure it was really not a trick of the scale..or simply because my stomach happened to be at its hollowest..or because I'd just emptied my bladder.  :P

It's all credited to the spectacular benefits of breastfeeding.

Weekly writing progress: I rewrote the beginning of my sequel and got it critiqued.  Now working on making those edits.  Looking forward to submitting a pitch proposal for the NaNoWriMo Book Doctor contest.

An Apple for Two Crowns

Well, I was supposed to go out an purchase one of these pretty laptops today...but sadly, this hit...

And not just one crown but two. So, my birthday present money is going into my mouth, along with novacaine, bloody gums, and bit of pain. Happy birthday to me. :(

Hopefully, I'll be able to save up the money again for September or October.

Under the Weather

I had all these grand designs about writing and blogging the past week, and then I got sick and had to blow my nose every two minutes (my voice, it is still on the mend, fyi).

As I was wallowing in mucus and snot, I watched some movies at home...and realized that, in adventure movies, the hero or heroine never gets sick! Wounded, yes, but never blasted with a cold that renders them totally useless.

I suppose it would be stupid to incapacitate a hero or heroine because the story would totally stop. But still!...it made me laugh...and then cough...and then have to blow my nose. Admittedly, I don't think I've ever written a main character getting sick before. (I'm thinking...) No, I don't think I have.

Yet it is so human!

Getting fit

Remember earlier in the year when I made a few belated New Year's resolutions? Well, that plan when down the drain after a about a week and a half. hahaha.

My new plan to get some exercise in my life is this: the One Hundred Push-up Plan. So far, I'm on day 2 and it's going pretty well. As well as two day's worth of push-ups can feel. lol... It's a slow ramp-up with lots of rest breaks between sets, which is perfect for me, as one who is easily defeated.

The goal of the program is to train you to be able to do 100 pushups consecutively. While I'm not planning on doing this, I do think that this program will definitely hel with my lack of exercise, especially since I can do this at home in my room.

So far (again, only as far as 2 days of pushups can do), my arms and abs feel the soreness after each day and I can tell that doing this exercise is helping me strengthen my core muscles.

Ultimately, I'm hoping this will help my arms look stunning in this dress for my sister-in-law's wedding in mid-June.

lol...

Self improvement

Okay, two stories about my trials in self-improvement:

Story #1: I had my ears pierced when I was 21 and always wore earrings, because I feared they might close up. Well, about 6 months ago, I took them off one night and never put replacements in. Cue to last Friday, when I thought I'd try to look nice while I got ready for work. I did my hair, I put basic makeup on...and then, I tried to put in earrings. HOLY COW...it hurt so bad! It was like my worst fear came true...my earring holes had almost closed up.

They were red for most of the day. And I think my left ear is infected now.

Is there a moral of the story? Karen, wear earrings everyday.

Story #2: Remember how a few weeks back, I made a belated New Year's resolution to run for 5 minutes everyday? Well, that didn't happen until yesterday. I was doing fine until after today. I can't even stand without my legs wobbling something crazy. I feel like falling to the floor.

Get that, I've ran for the grand total of TWO DAYS and I'm already wanting to give up.

Moral of the story? Karen, don't be so ambitious.

LOL.
